Include the time you have dedicated to raising your children on your CV

AND RETURN TO A PAID JOB FOR WHICH YOU ARE TRAINED, WHICH YOU ENJOY AND IN WHICH YOU ARE VALUED AS A PROFESSIONAL.

Have you been exclusively dedicated to child-rearing for some time and you feel that the "gap" in your CV is a problem?

THE PRIORITY IS TO GIVE VISIBILITY TO YOUR SKILLS AND POTENTIALS.

To everything you already knew before becoming a mother and to everything you have enhanced and learnt during motherhood and to recognise their professional value.

IF YOU HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT SHOWING THIS STAGE IN YOUR CV IN SOME WAY...

We propose ideas that we and other women have used so that you can include them in your CV and thus promote a fairer change in social and business culture.

WE WANT YOU TO FEEL ACCOMPANIED BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY OF US.

That is why we are looking for support, experiences of other women, experts in coaching, etc. with whom we can share knowledge and feel stronger.

UPDATE YOUR CV AND
YOUR LINKEDIN PROFILE.

1

Add your parenting job as a new position on your CV. Include it with the title you are most comfortable with ("mother", "primary caregiver"), with a brief description of the main tasks, as you would do with any paid job.

For example, Mother's position with the tasks "organisation, planning and management of material and human resources".

2

Include the mowom logo as if it were the place where you have worked to create community, as well as to attract the attention of companies and raise awareness of the value and necessity of unpaid care work.

For example…
When you do it in the CV you send to companies…

When you do it in your Linkedin profile…

(*) mowom is a space conceived with the purpose of making visible, highlighting and valuing motherhood. It should be noted that mowom does not operate as a commercial entity, has no functions associated with recruitment or employment activities and does not generate financial income. We encourage you to use this platform altruistically and as a means of expression for a cause, if you feel it is suitable for you.

3

Have you taken any courses or training during this time that may be relevant to the position for which you are applying? If so, don't forget to include it.

4

You will agree that you are not the same woman you were before. During all this time you will have developed new "soft skills" or improved and enhanced others. In the Soft Skills section, you can include three new skills from the list below, the ones you feel most identified with.

Found others? Great! Tell us about it so we can offer more ideas to other women who are or will be in this situation.

Women who are confident, proud of the work they have done and who know how to make the most of this stage.

Women who are informed, resourceful and have ideas to further develop their careers.

Women who are not alone, who share their experiences and push each other to fight for equality.

Women with visibility in companies where there is an awareness of co-responsibility.

Women who are aware of the importance and value of pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and the nine months after childbirth and who can go through it without haste, without pressure, without guilt and without renunciation.

These are the benefits of joining mowom

This project stems from my personal experience as a woman who wants to re-enter the labour market after a time devoted mainly to raising my child.

Like many other women, I have been in your situation and have faced the same doubts, fears and comments. Despite this, it was clear to me that this stage had an important social and economic value, and I felt that it should have a place on my CV.

That's why I created
mowom.
