Parenting is work.

Time spent raising a child is not a break or a pause—it’s a period of growth and development.

If you’re a mother, ask yourself:

  • Have you noticed all the skills you’ve developed through parenting?

  • Why not acknowledge as work what requires organization, decision-making, and leadership?

  • What if, instead of seeing a gap in your CV, you recognized it as a phase of growth?

If you’re a recruiter, ask yourself:

  • Do you value leadership, organization, and problem-solving in candidates?

  • Do you look for people with adaptability and crisis-management skills?

  • Then why ignore parenting experience on a CV?

Hello! I'm Raquel

I’m an industrial engineer, and I worked in the automotive sector—until my job clashed with my values. After two years dedicated to motherhood, I realized that this "gap" in my CV wasn’t empty. It was full of learning, growth, and real work.

In 2020, I created mowom as a fictional company on LinkedIn to make caregiving visible and recognized as professional experience. I did it for my own CV, but also to help other mothers do the same.

“I have included "I'm a mother" in my CV and on Linkedin. I have put it there because it is part of my identity, of who I am right now and I am proud of it and of the time I am dedicating to parenting, while I combine it with my work in my own company.”
